Company’s Cost Cutting Announcement

Sisters and Brothers,

Earlier today, the Company announced its plans to cut costs following the rejection of the recently proposed tentative agreement.  These initiatives include increased contracting out, contact centre closures, additional consolidation and the elimination of the OPEBs (Other Post Employment Benefits) program.

In our message to members two weeks ago, we told you that we had scheduled a meeting with the company on August 3 & 4.  That meeting has now been pushed up to July 26 & 27 so we can discuss this latest announcement, get more information and determine if there is anything we can do to prevent some or all of these cuts.

We understand that this is a very stressful and uncertain time for all members.  We will do everything in our power to mitigate the impact of this announcement.
